Terms of Service

Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and tickketa (“we”, “us”), covering every account holder, event organiser, and visitor who accesses the Service. They describe your rights and obligations, our rights and obligations, how ticket sales work, and how disputes are resolved. Please read them carefully; they include limitations on our liability and rules for cancelling or refunding tickets.
Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. When you register, you agree to provide accurate and current information, keep your password confidential, and accept responsibility for activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
Buying tickets
When you buy a ticket through tickketa, you agree to pay the full listed price plus any fees shown at checkout. Prices are set by event organisers and shown in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) unless stated otherwise. All sales are final unless the specific event's refund policy says otherwise, or the event is cancelled or materially changed by the organiser. Tickets are issued to the account that purchased them and may not be resold above face value unless the organiser permits it.
Listing and organising events
If you create an event, accommodation, tour, or food & drink listing, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for honouring the tickets or bookings you sell, and for complying with any laws that apply to your event or business, including licensing and safety requirements. Listings are reviewed before publication and tickketa may remove or refuse any listing that is inaccurate, misleading, or unsafe.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Create false or misleading event, accommodation, tour, or listing information
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, another user's account, or our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or attempt to bypass any security or rate-limiting measure
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defraud, or harm another person
- Resell tickets above face value where the event organiser does not permit it
- Use automated tools to scrape, buy, or reserve tickets at scale in a way that disadvantages other buyers
Intellectual property
The tickketa name, logo, and platform are owned by us. Content that organisers upload (event descriptions, photos, and similar material) remains theirs, but by posting it they grant tickketa a licence to display and distribute it as part of the Service.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
We provide the Service “as is” and work to keep it available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. tickketa is a platform connecting attendees with event organisers; we are not the organiser of most events listed, and to the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the ticket or booking in question.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, engages in fraud, or puts other users or the Service at risk, with notice where reasonably possible.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact our support team first so we can try to resolve it directly; unresolved disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will let you know by email or a notice on the Service before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
